This book won the Newbery Medal over 30 years ago. It is a classic animal fantasy book. Mrs. Frisby, a field mouse, is faced with a life-or-death problem: her son Timothy is deathly ill, and the cinderblock home that Mrs. Frisby shares with her children is about to be plowed over by the farmer. But Timothy is too sick to leave his bed. So Mrs. Frisby goes to the owl who says: "Ask the rats under the rosebush for help. Look for a rat named Nicodemus." So Mrs. Frisby's adventure begins as she turns to the rats for help - and discovers secrets about her own life. This book is thrilling and will keep you turning the pages. There are two sequels to the book: Racso and the Rats of NIMH and R.T., Margaret and the Rats of NIMH.
